Homemade Jams, Jellies, & Salsas

I first met Mike and Laurie Mercado about 6 years ago when my office was located right next door to their production kitchen and retail shop where the delicious jams, jellies and salsas of BR Provisions were made and sold. We became friends, and I must say that Mike is quite a character. He used to play practical jokes on me. But when he invited me to taste his products for the first time, I realized that his products were no joke. They are of the highest quality. I have seen Mike’s operation first hand and I can tell you that his jams, jellies and salsas are never made on an industrial scale. Mike’s award-winning recipes have been carefully crafted over the years, he always uses the freshest ingredients, and he cooks each batch personally in conventional stove-top pots to assure that the flavor and texture is just right. My favorites are the Raspberry Chipotle Pepper Jam, the Mango & Habanero Jam, and the Chili Pequin Salsa, and I have always found them to make excellent gifts to show an expression of appreciation, or as a cordial contribution to bring to a dinner party or a birthday. But the BR Provisions gifts I like the best are ones I get for myself. In my family, it’s a holiday tradition to always stock-up our pantry with mouthwatering preserves and salsas from Mike’s gourmet kitchen. Whether it’s in the morning on toast with coffee, or in the afternoon with tea, or while watching the game on TV with chips, the Jams Jellies and Salsas from BR Provisions always add a warm sense of luxury, well being, and contentment to my time at home with my family.

Corn Pepper Salsa – AMAZING!!! Love using this and making a dip – even got the recipe from Mike when I bought the salsa!!! Raspbery Chipotle Jam – YUMMM!! So easy to pour over softened cream cheese for unexpected company and so delicious (why even wait for company sometimes, LOL)!! Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing – everyone LOVES this!!! Mustang Grape Jelly – just brings me back to my childhood; it’s DELICIOUS!!! And the Chili Pequin Salsa, don’t even get me started – just can’t get enough of it!!! The quality is fabulous and always consistent! Not only are BRAZOS RIVER PROVISIONS’ jellies, jams and salsas absolutely the best, but they are always a hit with everyone! That’s why they also make great gifts!! I highly recommend everyone give them a try! You’ll be hooked just like me!!!
